Mark Schmidt is a father who loves to help kids learn. In the mid-1990s and early 2000s he was a parent volunteer math and reading tutor at McCarter Elementary School in Topeka, Kansas. So many times he witnessed children tense up and get scared while working on math problems. He would do what he could to help the children see that math could be fun, not scary. When working with his own children at home they would make up fun rhymes to solve math problems. Years later, Mark’s daughter Adina was reminiscing about her childhood and asked her father about the rhymes they used to recite together. Mark got them out and got to work. Those rhymes are what shaped the Ditto Kiddo Club books and games that we know today!
